FAQ's

Q. What is a Whirlbathe?

A. A Whirlbathe is a Patented Hydrotherapy System that uses a water pump and jets to circulate the water in a bath tub.

Q. How long has Whirlbathe been in business?

A. Whirlbathe was founded by Tom Ebert. He had worked on developing the process of converting bath tubs into whirlpool tubs for several years before finally obtaining the first patent on his system on Dec. 13 th, 1983.

Q. How is a Whirlbathe installed?

A. There are actually 2 ways that you can get a Whirlbathe system.

  • If you have an existing plain tub in your house, an inspector will make a visit to your home to determine the access point. We need only 1 small access opening in one of the surrounding walls of the tub to add our system. Once the access is determined the installer asks you where you would like the jet placement and completes the layout of the whirlpool system. He then continues by drilling the specified holes, attaching our hydrotherapy jets along with rigid PVC pipes. Then everything is connected into the water pump and the access opening is closed.
  • If you are looking for a brand new tub, we can supply you with your choice of 120 different bathtubs that incorporate our patented Whirlbathe System. In most cases you will have to get your own plumbing contractor to install the bathtub into your house.

Q. How much does a Whirlbathe bathtub conversion system cost?

A. Due to the fact that each Whirlbathe Dealership is independently owned and operated, the pricing structure will differ depending on your area. Please contact us for your specific and individual pricing needs. We will be able to put you in touch with the Dealer in your area.

Q. Who will install my Whirlbathe?

A. Whirlbathe systems are installed by certified system installers, who go through an extensive training with either the Official Corporate Trainer in Phoenix, or are trained by each Dealer's Certified System Trainer.

Q. When will I be able to use my new Whirlbathe bathtub?

A. The Whirlbathe system will be tested immediately upon completion of the conversion installation. However, to allow all of the adhesives to fully cure, we ask that you hold off on taking a full bath for the first 24 hours after your system is installed.

  • If you are purchasing a full Whirlbathe Bathtub with system, it will be tested before shipping, so all you have to do is have the tub installed in place and fill it up.

Q. What type of bathtub do I need to create a Whirlbathe bathtub?

A. Whirlbathe is an extremely versatile system. It can be added to any conventional bathtub provided we have accessibility to the under side of the tub. In the past 25 years, there have only been a very small percentage of tubs that we could not convert because the construction of the home prevented us from doing our job. Also here in Arizona there is a style of a bathtub called a “Sunken Bath” it is a tub that was poured of cement during the construction of the house, and finished with tile siding. Unfortunately we cannot do any formed cement tubs because there is no room behind the surface of the tub. If you have one and wanted it converted our best advice is to go for one of our New Whirlbathe Bathtubs and set it on top of your existing poured tub. Contact us for more information.

Q. Are there different types of Whirlbathe systems available?

A. Yes, depending upon the size and style of tub you have, we can customize the Whirlbathe system to your needs and desires. Call to have your Whirlbathe Dealer schedule a free in-home inspection of your tub to determine the perfect system for you.

Q. Can I get tub fittings to match my décor?

A. Yes, in most cases tub fittings can be matched to your tub color. Fittings are also available in several metal finishes to match your bathroom faucets.

Q. What value does a Whirlbathe bathtub add to my home?

A. Different locations will fetch different prices for a Whirlbathe system. A good way to find out is to ask a Realtor in your area about how much a whirlpool tub increases the value of a home.

Q. What are the health benefits of using a Whirlbathe bathtub?

A.A visit to our web page http://www.whirlbathe.com/benefits_hydrotherapy.htm should answer most if not all of your benefits questions. Also if you want any professional knowledge on it, Chiropractors and Doctors know all about the benefits of hydrotherapy. In the past, certain customers have been able to get tax write offs if their doctor or chiropractor proscribed hydrotherapy to them. If you frequently see one of the above we suggest asking them about it during your next appointment.

A. Depending on the type of system you purchase, warranties are from two to ten years.

Q. How are the new bathtubs constructed?

A. Most of our bathtubs are made of acrylic. In a very few instances where the tub design indicates it, the tubs are constructed of high-quality fiberglass with a gel-coat finish.

Q. How do I maintain a Whirlbathe bathtub?

A. Maintenance is extremely easy. We suggest that the system be cleaned once every week using approximately1/4 th cup of automatic dishwasher detergent (i.e. Cascade or Finish). Pour it into the tub while the system is full and running. Let run for 10-20 minutes with the air volume controls in the Closed/Down position. Then drain the tub and rinse residue, if any.

Q. What is the difference between a Whirlbathe bathtub and a standard jet tub?

A. The main noticeable difference is the way we plumb our system. Most manufactured tubs have 1-2 continuous plumbing lines that are used to connect every jet together, and then into the pump. In the Whirlbathe system, we plumb every jet on the tub with its own independent plumbing line straight into the motor. The benefit of doing it this way is easy to comprehend. One line for all of the jets means that the jets closest to the motor will be the strongest, whereas the jets further down the same line will have less pressure due to the water having to pass the first jet and so on. With our system there is no water sharing so the water flow goes directly from the pump evenly to each jet. Also with independent lines it leaves fewer areas for water to sit creating a cleaner system.
